What we do…
Experience
Learning is oftentimes best done by doing. At the Louisiana Wild Society, we like to get our hands dirty. Be it starting a community garden that incorporates seasonal edibles and local natives to bring in pollinators or using your own yard to connect with the greater natural world, there’s always something going on. Educate
We believe that information is empowering and supports individuals in making informed decisions about how we can support our local ecosystems for our planet to thrive. Throughout the year, Louisiana Wild puts on live demos, hands on workshops for all ages, and guest-speaker talks to connect with our community on how to grow in a way that helps our region thrive.
Immerse
We welcome activities that remind us that it is the land that feeds us. Supporting our natural world can be done right in your own backyard (or patio!). As we work to restore the relationship between plants and people, one of our main goals is to just get people outside to see all that is happening around them – the way the leaves fall as autumn closes in, the first pops of color in the early spring, or the way the bee takes a nap within the flowers.

There are many ways to get involved! As we work to get this project off the ground, we’d love to stay connected.
We have some incredible things planned for 2024, including a bare root tree giveaway (including planting demos and more!), native seed distribution and garden plan layout, educational content on how best to grow in our region and climate, removing invasive species that are negatively affecting our ecosystems, and so much more!
